EBank post the fastest growth in retail loans among EGX-listed banks in H1 2026
EBank led First Bank’s ranking of the fastest-growing EGX-listed banks in retail loans in H1 2026, with its portfolio rising by 26.8 per cent to EGP 17.52bn at end-June from EGP 13.81bn at end-2025. ADIB Egypt ranked second, with its retail loan portfolio rising by 19.4 per cent to EGP 57.69bn at end-June, from EGP 48.33bn at end-2025. Suez Canal Bank ranked third, with its retail loan portfolio increasing by 17.5 per cent to EGP 13.57bn at end-June, from EGP 11.55bn at end-2025. All 12 EGX-listed banks recorded positive growth in their retail loan portfolios during H1 2026. The combined retail loan portfolio of EGX-listed banks rose by 13.08 per cent to EGP 440.16bn at end-June 2026, from EGP 389.23bn at end-2025, an increase of more than EGP 50bn. Retail loan growth at EGX-listed banks slowed to 13.08 per cent in H1 2026, from 15.58 per cent in the same period of 2025. ADIB Egypt and Suez Canal Bank remained among the five fastest-growing EGX-listed banks in retail loans in both H1 2026 and 2025. Meanwhile, CIB maintained its position as the largest EGX-listed bank by retail loans, with its portfolio reaching EGP 103.36bn at end-June 2026. QNB Egypt ranked second, leaving a gap of EGP 11.36bn between the two banks at end-June.
