Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) topped First Bank’s ranking of the fastest-growing Egyptian Exchange (EGX)-listed banks by mortgage loans in H1 2026, rising from second place in the 2025 ranking after its portfolio increased to EGP 9.33 billion at end-June 2026, from EGP 7.98 billion at end-2025, representing half-year growth of 17.02 per cent.

QNB Egypt ranked second after its mortgage loan portfolio grew by around 14.10 per cent during H1 2026 to EGP 13.62 billion at end-June 2026, compared with EGP 11.94 billion at end-2025.

EGBANK ranked third, with its mortgage loan portfolio increasing by around 11.32 per cent during H1 2026 to approximately EGP 759.63 million at end-June 2026, from EGP 682.40 million at end-2025.

The ranking covered 11 EGX-listed banks for which the required financial data were available. Nine banks recorded positive growth in their total mortgage loan portfolios, while two banks posted notable declines during 2025.

Foreign banking groups operating in Egypt’s banking sector also secured two positions among the five fastest-growing listed banks by mortgage loans. QNB Egypt ranked second, while Crédit Agricole Egypt came sixth.

By contrast, mortgage loan portfolios declined at two listed banks during 2025, with ADIB-Egypt recording a drop of around 22 per cent and Al Baraka Bank Egypt posting a decline of about 44 per cent.

All values and growth rates cited in the analysis are based on the separate financial statements published by each bank at end-2025.
