CIB, QNB Egypt top First Bank’s Retail Depositor Confidence Index in H1 2026

Retail deposits at EGX-listed banks reach EGP 1.90tn, up EGP 226.30bn in H1 2026

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) topped First Bank’s ranking of the best Egyptian Exchange (EGX)-listed banks on the First Bank Retail Depositor Confidence Index in the first half of 2026, supported by the largest increase in its retail deposit portfolio, reflecting its ability to deliver strong and sustained growth ahead of its peers.
CIB’s retail deposit portfolio increased by around EGP 93.87bn during the first six months of 2026 to reach EGP 741.27bn at end-June, compared with EGP 647.40bn at end-2025.
QNB Egypt ranked second after adding around EGP 46.13bn to its retail deposit portfolio during H1 2026, bringing the total to EGP 333.74bn at end-June, compared with EGP 287.61bn at end-2025.
Suez Canal Bank secured third place after its retail deposit portfolio increased by EGP 22.95bn during H1 2026 to reach EGP 60.27bn at end-June, compared with EGP 37.32bn at end-2025.
The First Bank Retail Depositor Confidence Index tracked retail deposit portfolios across all 12 banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange. The data showed that all banks included in the ranking recorded increases in retail deposits during the first half of 2026.
The index results also showed notable growth in the combined retail deposit portfolios of EGX-listed banks, reaching EGP 1.90tn at end-June 2026, compared with EGP 1.67tn at end-2025, an increase of EGP 226.30bn.
Meanwhile, Islamic banks secured two spots among the top five out of the three Islamic banks included in the ranking: Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt, which ranked fourth, and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB-Egypt), which secured fifth place.
