The bank retained the lead after also topping the same ranking in the corresponding period of 2025, underscoring its strong ability to deploy shareholders’ equity to generate appropriate levels of profit.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB-Egypt) ranked second, with a Return on Average Equity of 38.58 per cent, after recording net profit of EGP 7.34bn in the first half of 2026.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) ranked third, with a ROAE of 33.62 per cent, supported by net profit of EGP 39.24 bn in the first half of 2026.

Meanwhile, the data showed complete stability in the competition at the top of First Bank’s ranking of the best EGX-listed banks by ROAE in the first half of 2026, with the five leading banks retaining the same positions, with no notable changes compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

All values and growth rates mentioned in the analysis above are based on the standalone financial statements published by each bank at end-March 2026.
