Suez Canal Bank named Egypt’s Best Bank for Overall Performance Excellence in 2026

Suez Canal Bank has been awarded the “Best Bank for Overall Performance Excellence in Egypt for 2026” by the World Union of Arab Bankers, reflecting the strength of its performance and the success of its strategy in reinforcing its position as an integrated banking partner.

The recognition also reflects the bank’s continued business expansion and its efforts to develop innovative banking solutions tailored to customers’ evolving needs and aspirations across both their personal and professional lives.

The award was received by Mr. Shehab Zidan, Deputy CEO & Managing Director of Suez Canal Bank, during the Arab Banks Awards & Commendation of Excellence 2026 Ceremony, attended by leading Arab banking figures and representatives of regional and international institutions.

Suez Canal Bank’s results for the first half of 2026 reflected its continued strong performance, with net profit increasing by 17.7 per cent to EGP 3.6 billion, while total assets increased by 13.6 per cent to EGP 307 billion as of the end of June 2026.

The bank's positive performance was also reflected in its share performance on the Egyptian Exchange, with the share price increasing by 70.3 per cent during the first eight months of 2026, from EGP 24.44 to EGP 41.61 by the end of August, outperforming the EGX100 Index, which rose by 57.2 per cent over the same period, reflecting investor confidence and the market’s positive perception of the bank’s trajectory.
