CIB, QNB Egypt lead on Corporate Depositor Confidence Index in H1 2026
CIB claims tops the index, reflecting its ability to deliver strong, sustainable growth in corporate deposits ahead of peers
Corporate deposits at EGX-listed banks reach EGP 2.07tn, rising by EGP 298.54bn in H1 2026
Islamic banks secure one place among top 5 out of 3 included in the ranking
Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) topped First Bank’s Corporate Depositor Confidence Index for EGX-listed banks in the first half of 2026, supported by the largest increase in its corporate deposits portfolio, reflecting its ability to deliver strong and sustainable growth ahead of its peers.
CIB’s corporate deposits increased by around EGP 104.57bn during the first six months of the year to EGP 562.52bn at end-June 2026, compared with EGP 457.95bn at end-2025.
QNB Egypt ranked second after adding around EGP 84.93bn to its corporate deposits portfolio during the first half of 2026, taking the total to EGP 576.63bn at end-June, compared with EGP 491.70bn at end-2025.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB-Egypt) claimed third place after its corporate deposits portfolio increased by EGP 41.19bn during the first half of 2026 to EGP 184.71bn at end-June, compared with EGP 143.52bn at end-2025.
ADIB-Egypt was also the only Islamic bank among the three Islamic banks included in the ranking to feature among the top five EGX-listed banks on First Bank’s Corporate Depositor Confidence Index in the first half of 2026.
First Bank’s Corporate Depositor Confidence Index tracked movements in corporate deposits portfolios across all 12 banks listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX). The data showed that 11 banks recorded increases in corporate deposits, while one bank posted a notable decline during the first half of 2026.
The index results showed tangible growth in total corporate deposits across EGX-listed banks, reaching EGP 2.07tn at end-June 2026, compared with EGP 1.78tn at end-2025, an increase of EGP 298.54bn.
All increases cited in the analysis above are based on the standalone financial statements disclosed by each bank for the period ended June 2026.
