In terms of ranking movements, FABMISR climbed from third place to first, followed by Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt, which advanced from fifth to second. Housing and Development Bank (HDB) rose from seventh to third, Kuwait Finance House – Egypt (KFH-Egypt) moved from ninth to fourth, while Arab African International Bank (AAIB) advanced from eighth to fifth.

In contrast, the United Bank fell from second to ninth place, and Bank NXT dropped from fourth to seventh. Bank ABC Egypt kept its sixth-place position unchanged.

At end-June 2026, 20 of the 23 banks posted leverage ratios higher than the sector average of 7.8 percent, based on the latest figures released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

Among the four Islamic banks in the ranking, two secured places in the top 10: Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt and KFH-Egypt.

All leverage ratios mentioned in the above analysis are based on the standalone financial statements published by each bank at end-June 2026.
