First Abu Dhabi Bank Misr (FABMISR) has strengthened its competitive position in the syndicated loan market among the largest banks operating in Egypt at the end of June 2026.

The bank moved up one place from ninth to eighth at the end of December 2025, supported by growth in its syndicated loan portfolio over the period.

FABMISR’s syndicated loan portfolio expanded by 8.47 per cent in the first half of 2026, reaching EGP 19.09 bn at the end of June 2026, compared with EGP 17.60 bn at the end of December 2025.

The EGP 1.49 bn rise reflects the bank’s continued expansion in this loan category and its growing presence in large-scale transactions across the Egyptian market.

FABMISR’s strength in the syndicated loans market is reflected in its participation in major transactions, demonstrating its capacity to arrange and finance large-scale projects in Egypt.

Notably, the bank played a lead role in arranging an EGP 4.2bn syndicated loan for Redcon Properties to finance the development of the Golden Gate commercial and administrative project in New Cairo.

FABMISR acted as Initial Mandated Lead Arranger, bookrunner, facility agent, security agent and account bank in the transaction, which attracted strong demand from participating banks. The facility was 1.2 times oversubscribed, prompting an increase in its size from EGP 3.5bn to EGP 4.2bn.

The transaction highlights FABMISR’s ability to mobilise liquidity and strengthen its presence in major syndicated lending transactions, consolidating its position among the leading banks in this segment at end-June 2026.
