NBE tops First Bank list of the 10 largest banks in market shares

First Bank list of the largest banks in the market shares of deposit portfolios at the end of last September revealed that the National Bank of Egypt topped the list with a market share of 36.26%, at the end of last September, with a total value of 2.841 trillion pounds.

Banque Misr ranked second with a market share of 20.04%, by the end of September 2022, after its portfolio recorded EGP 1.570 trillion, followed by CIB in third place with a market share of 6.35% at the end of the same period.

QNB AlAhli came in fourth place with a market share of 4.81% , at the end of last September, with 377 billion pounds, while Banque du Caire ranked fifth with a market share of 3.01% , with 235.8 billion. pounds at the end of the same period.

The Arab African International Bank came sixth, with a market share of 2.54% at the end of last September, with EGP 199.4 billion at the end of the same period last year.

The Agricultural Bank of Egypt ranked seventh with a market share of 1.80% by the end of September 2022, followed by Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt with a share of 1.48% by the end of the same period. Alex Bank came in ninth place with a market share of 1.32% at the end of last September, with 103.6 billion pounds.

The Housing and Development Bank ranked tenth, with a market share of 1.11% by the end of September 2022, with 87.2 billion pounds, announcing that it entered for the first time the list of the top 10 in the deposit market.

As of October 23, 2022, the official merger took place between Bank Audi and First Abu Dhabi Bank and the two banks became operating within the framework of a unified work system under FAB-Egypt brand, and the bank will enter the upcoming ratings of First Bank website.
