Suez Canal Bank participates in a seminar on Egyptian economy held at BEBA
A delegation from the Suez Canal Bank participated in a symposium held by the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) to examine the recent developments of the economic activities well as the progress of investment climate in Egypt.
BEBA is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, serving the interests of the British/Egyptian business community. It is currently headed by Eng. Khaled Nosseir on the Egyptian side.
BEBA offers a wide range of services to its members, such as opening channels of communication between British and Egyptian businesses, organising trade missions between the two countries, showcasing current key business issues through workshops, seminars and lobbying for change at a governmental level on behalf of BEBA’s members. BEBA also provides access to senior UK and Egyptian government officials.
The SCBank delegation included Nour El Zeiny, Head of the Bank's Corporate Communication and Community Development Sector among executives at bank on both governmental and private levels.
Egypt had signed the Egyptian-British Partnership Agreement with United Kingdom in order to create a new framework for bilateral trade relations, and recently a Sub-Committee on trade and investment was established, which will discuss opportunities for increasing cooperation between them.
The first eight months of 2022 witnessed an increase of 77.6% in Egypt's exports to the United Kingdom, compared to the same period in 2021. Yet, British exports to Egypt increased by 34.6% during 2021 which reflects development of trade exchange between the two countries and rapid growth in the bilateral economic relations.
