Suez Canal Bank, SAIB among most focused listed banks into syndicated loans in 9M
Suez Canal Bank topped First Bank list of most focused listed banks into syndicated loans after its syndicated loans portfolio acquired 29.27% of total loans to customers.
Suez Canal Bank’s syndicated loan portfolio recorded 8.8 billion Egyptian pounds at the end of September 2022, while total loans to customers 30.13 billion Egyptian pounds.
First Bank has made up a list that goes through syndicated loans portfolio in 10 listed banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which data was available during the analysis period. The list is based on the criterion of syndicated loans to total customer loans.
SAIB Bank came second after Syndicated loans acquired 26.74% of total loans to customers. The Syndicated loans loan portfolio reached EGP 11.04 billion, while the total customer loans recorded EGP 41.28 billion at the end of September.
EGBANK came third on the list after its syndicated loans portfolio accounted for 24.55% of its total loans to customers at the end of last September. The bank’s customer loans amounted to EGP 27.04 billion the syndicated loans recorded EGP 6.64 billion in 9M-2022.
The Commercial International Bank (CIB) was the fourth on the list as its syndicated loans obtained 21.17% of total loans to customers by the end of September 2022. The Bank’s syndicated loans amounted to EGP 41.91 billion, while total customer loans amounted to EGP 197.97 billion pounds in 9M-2022.
Al Baraka Bank Egypt was ranked fifth on the list as its syndicated loans portfolio accounted for 12.96% of the total loans to customers. The syndicated loans portfolio amounted to 4.05 billion pounds, while the total customer loans recorded about 31.23 billion by the end of September 2022.
It is worth mentioning that all the values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are according to the independent financial statements of each bank at the end of June 2022
