First Bank list of most efficient listed banks in terms of ROE (Return on Average Equity) revealed that Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt topped the list, with ROE of 28.19%, after achieving net profits of EGP2.125bn in 2022.

Return on average equity shows the ability of banks to invest shareholders' equity in achieving appropriate levels of profits, and the higher the return, the more this indicates the banks' efficiency.

Credit Agricole Bank – Egypt occupied the second with ROE of 26.02% during the past year, after achieving net profits of EGP 2.419 bn during the same period.

Al Baraka Bank - Egypt ranked third with ROE of 25.83%, as the bank's net profit jumped to EGP1.755 bn during the period from January to December 2022.

 Commercial International Bank – Egypt came in Fourth place, after achieving ROE of 23.61% during 2022, after achieving net profits of EGP 16.130 bn during the past year.

Housing and Development Bank ranked fifth with ROE of 23.06% over the past year, as the bank achieved net profits of EGP2.256 bn during the period from January to December 2022.

It should be noted that all values ​​and rates mentioned above, Are according to separate financial statements announced for each bank at the end of December of last year.
