Today, we discuss one of the most prominent financial and banking figures in Egypt and the world in modern history, and briefly talks about their journey and most prominent achievements; Jean-Claude Trichet, former European Central Bank President.

His career’s fame began to appear since 1987, when he became a member of the World Bank, but he moved in 1993 after his appointment as Governor of the Banque de France.

Trichet assumed the duties of European Central Bank President in early November 2003, succeeding, Wim Duisenberg, and he worked to strengthen the role of EU and the Eurozone in particular, before he retired in October 2011.

He also had joined European Central Bank, after a decade at the helm of Banque de France, he was able to achieve the difficult equation between maintaining the strength of the French franc and an anti-inflationary monetary policy, at the same time.

On the academic level, Trichet's career was political, as he finished his first educational stage at National School of Mines in Nancy, graduated in 1964. After 2 years, he finished a training at IPS in Paris, then continued his academic career at École Nationale d'Administration in France from 1969 to 1971, so that he would have attended the two most prestigious educational institutions in the field of political science and state administration in France.
