CIB, QNB Egypt and ADIB-Egypt Lead First Bank’s Credit Competitiveness Index in H1- 2025

First Bank’s credit competitiveness index for listed banks in the Egyptian stock market during the first half of 2025 revealed that the Commercial International Bank «CIB» topped the list, as its total financing to customers jumped by 77.24 billion pounds during the first half of 2025, to record 466.81 billion pounds at the end of June 2025, compared to 389.57 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
The «First Bank» Credit Competitiveness Index monitored the value of the increase in financing portfolios of 12 banks listed in the Egyptian stock market, and showed that all banks under analysis achieved noticeable increases in the volume of their financing to customers.
The «First Bank» Credit Competitiveness Index measures the extent to which banks are able to offer credit or loan products to attract customers, whether individuals or companies, and its measurement is based on the absolute value of growth in the loan portfolio, which expresses the extent of the bank's success in raising the balance of its portfolio.
Returning to the list, Qatar National Bank «QNB» Egypt snatched second place after it succeeded in increasing its financing portfolio by 40.25 billion during the first half of 2025, reaching 405.54 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to 365.29 billion by the end of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB» ranked third, with its portfolio of customer financing increased by 25.47 billion during the first half of 2025, reaching 128.21 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to 102.74 billion by the end of 2024.
Suez Canal Bank came in fourth place, after it succeeded in increasing its financing portfolio for customers by 17.09 billion pounds during the first half of 2025, to record 96.25 billion pounds by the end of June 2025, compared to 79.17 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
saib ranked fifth, as its financing portfolio for customers increased by about 12.69 billion pounds during the first half of 2025, reaching 78.61 billion pounds by the end of June 2025, compared to 65.93 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
