QNB Egypt, CIB and ADIB-Egypt top fastest-growing listed banks on First Bank Credit Competitiveness Index during Q1-2025

First Bank index of credit competitiveness in banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that Qatar National Bank «QNB» Egypt topped the index, as the total volume of its loans to customers increased by EGP 20.87 bn during the first quarter of this year, reaching EGP 386.16 bn by the end of the year.March 2025, compared to EGP 365.29 bn by the end of 2024.
First Bank Credit Competitiveness Index monitored the increase in the total portfolios of customer loans and facilities at all banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange (12 banks) during the first quarter of 2025, and revealed that they all achieved an increase in the size of their portfolios.
This Index measures the extent to which banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange are able to offer credit or loan products, to attract customers, whether individuals or companies, and its measurement depends on the absolute value of growth in total customer loans, which expresses the extent of the bank’s success in raising the balance of its portfolio.
Additionally, the index showed that the total volume of customer loans in banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange jumped by 99.09 billion pounds during the first quarter of this year, recording 1.45 trillion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 1.35 trillion pounds by the end of 2024.
Returning to the list, Commercial International Bank-Egypt «CIB» won second place, as its total customer loans increased by EGP 19.62 bn during the first quarter of this year, recording EGP 409.20 bn by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 389.57 bn by the end of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB» took third place, as its total financing to customers jumped by about EGP 15.20 bn during the first quarter of 2025, reaching EGP 117.94 bn by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 102.74 bn by the end of 2024.
Suez Canal Bank came in fourth place, after its total loans to customers increased by EGP 11.72 bn during the first quarter of this year, recording EGP 90.88 bn by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 79.17 bn by the end of 2024.
As for fifth place, it went to the Egyptian Gulf Bank «EGBANK», after its total portfolio of customer loans increased by EGP 9.07 bn during the first quarter of 2025, recording EGP 57.10 bn by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 48.03 bn by the end of 2024.
It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are in accordance with the separated financial statements announced for each bank at the end of March 2025
