EBank, Suez Canal Bank, and CIB, Fastest-growing listed banks in loan portfolio during Q1-2023
First Bank list of listed banks revealed the fastest growth in total customer loans during the first quarter of the current year. EBank, topped the list with a growth rate of 17.56%, reaching EGP 52.7 bn by the end of March 2023, compared to EGP 44.8 bn by the end of December 2022.
The list, which included 11 listed banks on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, showed that all banks analyzed had positive growth rates in the total portfolios of their customer loans during the period from January to March 2023.
Suez Canal Bank occupied second place with a growth rate of 13.73% during the first quarter of the current year. Its total customer loans increased from EGP 32.1 bn by the end of December 2022 to EGP 36.7 bn by the end of March 2023.
As for third place, it was obtained by Commercial International Bank with a growth rate of 11.33% during the first 3 months of the current year. The bank's total customer loans reached EGP 243.4 bn by the end of March 2023, compared to EGP 218.6 bn by the end of December 2022.
saib ranked fourth with a growth rate of 9.39% during the first quarter of the current year. Its total customer loans reached EGP 45.8 bn by the end of March 2023, compared to EGP 41.9 bn by the end of December 2022.
EGBANK came in fifth place as its total customer loans increased by a growth rate of 9.20% during the first quarter of the current year, reaching EGP 31.1 bn by the end of March 2023, compared to EGP 28.4 bn by the end of December 2022.
It is worth noting that all the mentioned values and growth rates above are based on separate financial statements announced for each bank by end of March 2023.
