HD Bank, CIB, and EGBANK, Fastest-growing listed banks in terms of Retail deposits during Q1-2023
According to First Bank list of listed banks with the fastest growth in total retail deposits during the first quarter of the current year, HD Bank topped the list with a growth rate of 14.45%. Its total portfolio reached EGP 31.2 bn by the end of March 2023, compared to EGP 27.2 bn by the end of December 2022.
10 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange managed to increase their individual deposit portfolios by a growth rate of 6.80%, with an increase of EGP 50.079 bn during the first quarter of the current year. Their total value increased from EGP 736.6 bn by the end of December 2022 to EGP 786.7 bn by the end of March 2023.
Commercial International Bank - Egypt ranked second with a growth rate of 8.34% during the first 3 months of the current year. Its total retail deposit portfolio reached EGP 290.3 bn by the end of March 2023, compared to EGP 267.9 bn by the end of December 2022.
Egyptian Gulf Bank came third, with a growth rate of 7.14% during the first quarter of the current year. Total retail deposit portfolio in the bank increased to EGP 18.7 bn by the end of March 2023, compared to EGP 17.5 bn by the end of December 2022.
Qatar National Bank Al Ahli ranked fourth with 7% growth during the first 3 months of the current year. Its total retail deposit portfolio reached EGP 154.8 bn by the end of March 2023, compared to EGP 144.7 bn by the end of December 2022.
Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt ranked fifth with a growth rate of 6.62% during the first quarter of the current year. Its total retail deposit portfolio increased from EGP 119.6 bn by the end of December 2022 to EGP 127.5 bn by the end of March 2023.
