Faisal Bank, EGBANK, and alBaraka bank top listed banks in focusing on financial investments by March 2023end
According to First bank list for the most focused banks on financial investments, Faisal Islamic Bank topped the list after its total financial investments and T-bills accounted for 58.89% of its total assets, amounting to EGP 166.06 bn by the end of March 2023. The bank's total financial investments reached EGP 97.79 bn by the same period.
The list, which included 11 listed banks on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, revealed the investment orientations of these banks, specifically in terms of financial investments. The concentration ratio is based on the criterion of (total financial investments and treasury bonds/assets) to provide an indicator of the bank's asset concentration in the financial investments category.
EGBANK, secured the second position after its total financial investments and T- bonds, valued at EGP 38.14 bn, accounted for a relative weight of 38.16% of the bank's total assets, which amounted to EGP99.93 bn by the end of March 2023.
As for the third position, it was obtained by alBaraka Bank - Egypt, as 35.82% of the bank's assets were concentrated in its total financial investments and T-bills. Its total financial investments reached EGP33.42 bn, while its asset size was EGP93.30 bn by the end of March 2023.
Commercial International Bank - Egypt secured the fourth position, with a concentration ratio of 33.36% of its total assets valued at EGP684.20 bn. Total financial investments and T-bills amounted to EGP 288.22 bn by the end of March 2023.
Qatar National Bank Al Ahli ranked fifth, with its total financial investments and T-bills accounting for 33.23% of the bank's assets, valued at EGP517.44 bn. Its total financial investments amounted to EGP171.95 bn by the end of the same period.
It is worth noting that the concentration ratios and values mentioned above are based on separate announced financial statements of each bank by the end of March 2023.
