EGBANK, HD Bank and Credit Agricole bank Top listed banks in focusing on personal loans by March-2023end
According to the list provided by FirstBank of the most focused listed banks on personal loans by the end of the previous March, Egyptian Gulf Bank topped the list. Personal loans accounted for 26.68% of the total customer loans, amounting to EGP31.1 bn by the end of March 2023. Its volume reached EGP 8.3 bn during the same period.
The list measures investment trends of 11 listed banks on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, specifically at the level of personal loan portfolios. The list is based on the ratio of personal loans to total customer loans, providing an indicator of the extent to which customer loans in the bank are concentrated in personal loans.
Returning to the list, HD Bank secured the second position, with 23.94% of their total customer loans focused on the personal loan portfolio. Their personal loans amounted to EGP9.4 bn, while total customer loans reached EGP39.1 bn by the end of March 2023.
Credit Agricole Egypt ranked third, with personal loans accounting for 22.24% of their total customer loans. The bank recorded a total loan portfolio of EGP36 bn, while its personal loan portfolio reached EGP8 bn by the end of the first quarter of the current year.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank - Egypt came in fourth place, with personal loans representing 21.53% of their total customer loans, amounting to EGP63.8 bn. Their personal loan portfolio was valued at EGP13.7 bn by the end of the previous March.
saib ranked fifth, with its personal loan portfolio accounting for 18.66% of the total customer loans, with a total value of EGP8.5 bn. Total customer loans amounted to EGP45.8 bn by the end of March 2023.
