NBE opens its renovated Touson Heritage Branch to coincide with its 125th anniversary

National Bank of Egypt inaugurated its Touson branch on Salah Salem Street, at Al-Raml Station in Alexandria, following comprehensive renovations. The branch is one of the bank's heritage branches, and its opening coincides with the bank's 125th anniversary.

The inauguration was attended by Major General Mohamed Taher Elsherief, the Governor of Alexandria, Hisham Okasha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of National Bank of Egypt, Yehia Abou El-Fotouhand Dalia El Baz, Deputy Chairpersons of the Board of Directors of the bank, Karim Seuss, the Chief Executive Officer of Retail Banking and Branches, and Dr. Ashraf ElBakry, Head of Projects, along with several bank officials and representatives from the Alexandria Governorate.

Hisham Okasha expressed his pride in the opening of Touson branch, one of the bank's heritage branches, on the occasion of the bank's foundation on June 25, 1898, with Commercial Registry No. 1.

He highlighted that Touson branch stands out with its classical and distinguished facade, located in the heart of Alexandria, and the building itself is over 120 years old, covering an area of 1800 square meters.

Okasha emphasized that the development of Touson branch is part of the bank's strategy to enhance its heritage and historical branches, reflecting the bank's role in preserving heritage and developing its heritage branches, which have maintained their distinctive character and cultural significance in Egypt's provinces.

Moreover, Yehia Abou El-Fotouh, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of NBE, stated that Touson branch is one of the largest branches in Alexandria Governorate, and the bank's branch network extends across the country, with over 640 branches.

He noted that the branch's development was carried out using modern construction techniques specifically designed for dealing with historical buildings to preserve their unique and distinctive features. This approach was also taken into account in the development of several other heritage branches, such as the main branch on Sherif Street, and the branches in Mohamed Farid, Tharwat, Al Muski, Beni Suef, Fayoum, and other branches as part of the bank's plan to develop its heritage branches in various provinces.

Dalia El Baz, Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Al Ahli Bank of Egypt, added that the branch building consists of 3 floors, with the ground floor housing the teller services, electronic banking, and the other 2 floors containing administrative offices and customer service.

She explained that the branch was renovated while preserving the distinctive corporate identity of all the bank's branches. It was equipped with the latest technological methods in banking operations, supported by a robust infrastructure that the bank is committed to continuously updating, in addition to a well-trained human workforce dedicated to providing the best service to the bank's customers.
