First Bank list of listed banks with the highest focus on financial investments has revealed that Faisal Islamic Bank tops the list with a concentration ratio of 56.90%. By the end of June 2023, the bank's assets reached EGP169.5 bn, with total financial investments in the bank amounting to approximately EGP96.4 bn by the same period.
This list, including 11 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, discloses the investment directions of listed banks, specifically in terms of financial investments and t-bills. The concentration ratio is based on the criteria of (total financial investments and t-bills/assets), providing an indicator of how focused a bank's assets are in the financial investments category.
alBaraka - Egypt secured the second position, with a total value of financial investments and t-bills reaching EGP 42.6 bn, representing 45.48% of its total assets valued at EGP93.8 bn by the end of June 2023.
EGBANK came in third place, with 36.71% of its assets concentrated in total financial investments worth EGP38.2 bn, The bank's total assets reached approximately EGP104.1 bn by the end of June 2023.
QNB Al Ahli claimed the fourth position, with 35.96% of its assets, valued at EGP543.3 bn, concentrated in total financial investments and t-bills amounting to EGP 195.4 bn by the end of June 2023.
As for the fifth position, it was secured by CIB, with 29.41% of its assets concentrated in total financial investments, representing a portion of its total assets valued at EGP 794.7 bn. Total financial investments amounted to EGP233.7 bn by the end of June 2023, followed by saib and Suez Canal banks with percentages of 27.67% and 26.34%, respectively, by the same period.
