AAIB, CIB, and Attijariwafa Bank, fastest-growing banks in corporate loans during H1-2023
First Bank
According to First Bank list of the fastest-growing banks in corporate loans during the current year. Arab African International Bank topped the list with a growth rate of 21.99%, reaching approximately EGP133.2 bn by the end of June 2023, compared to EGP 109.2 bn by the end of December 2022.
The list, which included 21 banks in the Egyptian banking sector, revealed positive growth rates in corporate loans for all banks during the period from January to June 2023.
Commercial International Bank (CIB) secured the second position with a growth rate of 20.06%, ending June 2023 with a corporate loan portfolio of about EGP198.5 bn, compared to EGP 165.3 bn by the end of December 2022.
Attijariwafa bank took the third position with a growth rate of 18.96% during the first half of the current year, increasing its corporate loan portfolio to EGP 29.7 bn by the end of June 2023, compared to approximately EGP25 bn by the end of December 2022.
EGBANK, ranked fourth with a growth rate of 17% during the first half of the current year, increasing its corporate loan portfolio from EGP19.9 bn at the end of December 2022 to EGP 23.3 bn by the end of June 2023.
Ebank came fifth with a growth rate of 16.09% during the first half of the current year, recording a corporate loan portfolio of about EGP46.8 bn by the end of June 2023, compared to EGP40.3 bn by the end of December 2022. Ahli United Bank-Egypt followed with a growth rate of 15.10% during the same period.
saib claimed the seventh position with a growth rate of 14.80% during the first half of the current year, increasing its corporate loan portfolio to EGP35.5 bn by the end of June 2023, compared to EGP30.9 bn by the end of December 2022.
NBE secured the eighth position with a growth rate of 14.72%, ending June 2023 with a corporate loan portfolio of EGP1.722tn, compared to EGP1.501 tn by the end of December 2022, followed by Emirates NBD- Egypt with a growth rate of 13.31% during the first half of 2023.
ABK-Egypt claimed the tenth position with a growth rate of 12.29% during the first half of the current year, increasing its corporate loan portfolio to EGP25.2 bn by the end of June 2023, compared to EGP22.4 bn by the end of December 2022.
It's worth noting that all the values and growth rates mentioned in the analysis are based on separate financial statements declared by each bank as of the end of June 2023.
