Faisal Bank, alBaraka Bank, EGBANK, QNB Al Ahli, and aiBANK, top banks in focusing on financial investments

According to First Bank list of banks with the highest concentration on financial investments and t-bills as of June last year, Faisal Islamic Bank in Egypt topped the list with 56.90% concentration, with total financial investment portfolio reaching EGP96.43 bn by June 2023, and its assets amounted to EGP 169.48 bn at the same period.

The list reveals the investment trends of 21 banks in the Egyptian banking sector, based on the criterion (Total financial investments and treasury bills / Total assets), providing an indicator of the extent to which a bank's assets are concentrated in the financial investments category.

alBaraka Bank secured the second position with a concentration of 45.48%, with its total financial investment portfolio reaching EGP42.64 bn, and its total asset portfolio amounted to about EGP93.76 bn by the end of June 2023.

EGBANK, the Egyptian Gulf Bank, came third with 36.71% of its total assets concentrated in financial investments. Its financial investments totaled EGP38.22 bn by the end of June 2023, and its assets amounted to EGP 104.11 bn during the same period.

Qatar National Bank Al Ahli (QNB) ranked fourth, with 35.96% of its total assets, amounting to EGP 543.31 bn, concentrated in its total financial investment portfolio, which reached EGP195.39 bn by the end of June 2023.

The fifth position was claimed by Arab Investment Bank (aiBANK), with 35.61% of its total assets, amounting to EGP58.50 bn, concentrated in its total financial investment portfolio, which totaled EGP20.83 bn.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank - Egypt (ADCB) secured the sixth position with a concentration of 30.76%, with its total financial investment and t-bills portfolio reaching about EGP 25.72 bn, and its total assets amounted to EGP83.62 bn by the end of June 2023, followed by Commercial International Bank (CIB) at eighth place with 29.41% concentration, where EGP 233.75 bn of its total assets were concentrated in the total financial investments, which amounted to EGP 794.68 bn by the end of June 2023.

National Bank of Kuwait - Egypt took the ninth position, with 28.71% of its total assets, amounting to EGP114.78 bn, concentrated in its total financial investments, which reached EGP32.95 bn by the end of June 2023.
