alBaraka Bank, Faisal Bank, and EBank, Fastest growing listed banks in personal loans At 9M-2023
First Bank
The list of First Bank for the fastest growing banks in personal loans during the first 9 months of the current year revealed that alBaraka Bank topped the list with a growth rate of 78.22%, after its total portfolio jumped to EGP6.661 bn at the end of September 2023, compared to EGP3.737 bn in December 2022.
The list, which included 11 banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange, disclosed that all the banks under analysis achieved positive growth rates in the total portfolio of their personal loans during the period from January to September 2023.
The banks listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange increased the granting of personal loans to their customers by a growth rate of 10.66% and an increase of EGP10.357 bn during the first 9 months of the current year, to move the total value of their portfolios from EGP97.140 bn at the end of December 2022, and reach EGP107.498 bn at the end of September 2023.
Returning to the list, Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt came in second place with a growth rate of 70.11% during the first 9 months of the current year, after its total portfolio rose to EGP 500.8 mn at the end of September 2023, compared to EGP294.4 mn at the end of December 2022.
Egyptian Export Development Bank ranked third with a growth rate of 40.80% during the first 9 months of the current year, after its total personal loan portfolio jumped to EGP5.323 bn at the end of September 2023, compared to EGP3.781 bn at the end of December 2022.
Suez Canal Bank ranked fourth with a growth rate of 32.98% during the first 9 months of the current year, after its total personal loan portfolio rose to EGP3.451 bn at the end of September 2023, compared to EGP2.595 bn at the end of December 2022.
As for the fifth place, it was obtained by saib with a growth rate of 20.96% during the first 9 months of the current year, after its total personal loan portfolio rose to EGP9.468 bn at the end of September 2023, compared to EGP 7.828 bn at the end of December 2022, followed by Housing and Development Bank with a growth rate of 16.51% during the same period. It is worth noting that all the values and growth rates mentioned in the analysis above are according to separate financial statements announced for each bank, at the end of September of the year 2023.
