First Bank list for the classification of listed banks by the largest customer deposits at the end of September revealed that the Commercial International Bank (CIB) of Egypt topped the list with a portfolio size of EGP665.9 bn, growing by 25.61% in the first 9 months of 2023.

 

The analysis showed that all 11 banks listed on the Egyptian stock exchange increased their total deposit portfolios to approximately EGP330.2 tn from January to September 2023, reaching EGP1.997 tn by the end of September 2023, compared to EGP1.666 tn at the end of December 2022.

Qatar National Bank ALAHLI secured the second position, with its customer deposit portfolio reaching EGP498.3 bn at the end of September 2023, growing by 22.42% during the first 9 months of 2023.

 

Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt claimed the third position with a deposit portfolio of around EGP130.3 bn, growing by 5.38% in the same period, followed by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt (ADIB) in the fourth position with a deposit portfolio of EGP115.3 bn.

 

The fifth position was taken by Housing and Development Bank, with a deposit portfolio of EGP 95.5 bn at the end of September, growing by 6.73% in the first 9 months of 2023.

 

 Ebank, Egyptian Export Development Bank, secured the sixth position with a deposit portfolio of around EGP86.2 bn, growing by 18.29% during the same period.

 

Saib claimed the seventh position with a deposit portfolio of EGP85.7 bn, recording a growth rate of 17.32% in the first 9 months of 2023.

 

alBaraka bank secured the eighth position with a deposit portfolio of EGP82.3 bn at the end of September 2023, growing by 10.58% during the first 9 months of 2023. EGBANK followed in the ninth position with a deposit portfolio of EGP81.2 bn in the same period.

 

Credit Agricole – Egypt secured the tenth position with a deposit portfolio of EGP80.8 bn, recording the highest growth rate among listed banks during the first 9 months of 2023 at 33.50%.

 

Suez Canal Bank followed with a deposit portfolio of EGP75.1 bn, growing by 14.15% during the same period.
