NBE Opens Historic Vinny Palace branch, Preserving Cultural Heritage

National Bank of Egypt inaugurated its headquarters and branch Vinny Palace, In Alexandria after a comprehensive rehabilitation, preserving its heritage as one of the bank’s historical buildings.
The opening ceremony was attended by Hesham Ezzat, the Chairman of the Egyptian National Bank, and other key figures, highlighting the bank’s commitment to preserving cultural and historical assets.
The building, designed by the renowned architect SainJean, has a rich history dating back to 1907 and was acquired by the bank in 2005, emphasizing the bank’s strategy to develop and rehabilitate its Mortgage assets, especially those with historical significance.
The bank plans to repurpose several heritage buildings, including Vinny palace, reflecting its vision to enhance artistic, literary, and cultural taste.
The restoration process involved collaboration with experts in restoration, architecture, chemistry, art history, and physics, ensuring the meticulous preservation of the building.
This initiative aligns with global principles for conserving cultural properties, emphasizing the importance of preserving a country’s cultural and historical legacy.
Vinny Palace branch, equipped with modern banking technology, aims to provide top-notch service within the bank’s network, projected to reach 650 branches by the end of 2023.
