NBE cooperates with OPay to provide electronic payment and collection services

NBE announced the launch of a new service in cooperation with OPay Egypt to provide payment and electronic collection services in a new way, through "OPay" App as the customer’s bank account is directly debited through NBE Mobile Service.

This facilitated completing e-payments easily of financial transactions for customers, which is in line with the Bank's strategy and the general direction towards activating digital transformation. 

In response to this cooperation, Yehia Abou ElFotouh, Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Egypt, stated that the launch of e-payment services is that the customer’s bank account is directly debited through NBE Mobile Service.

He added that the cooperation aims to provide the latest innovative banking products and services in order to provide an easy and more effective banking experience, which puts customers first and meets their changing and growing needs and requirements.

Abou ElFotouh noted that this service contributes greatly to attracting new segments of customers since modern technology is the basis for their daily dealings, reflecting the NBE's caution to integrate segments that do not deal with banking sector and its impact on the implementation of the financial inclusion system and digital transformation.  For his part, Karim Seuss, CEO of Retail Banking and Branches of NBE, added that NBE cooperation with OPay comes to include the most important services needed by all categories of customers.

Customers can access their app "OPay" and choice the service needs to be paid, and choice "payment through NBE Mobile Service" which is one of the options available at the OPay payment page, and then enter the user code and the password of the user code. Hence, the debit account to be debited with the transaction is to be determined. The customer should see and agree to the terms and conditions and fees details, so that the transaction data will be confirmed and approved.

Mahmoud khedr, CEO of OPay Egypt, also stressed that the partnership with the NBE is a strategic partnership as it comes within the framework of the advance plan developed by OPay with NBE to offer the Egyptian market all electronic payment solutions to provide facilitations for customers.

He added that this partnership is a new step in the way of strategic cooperation with the Bank and other agreements will be announced in the coming period in the same context. He also thanked all work teams of the National Bank of Egypt and OPay for launching this service on time.
