Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 11 March 2024 with increase in the market cap by 4.66% to record EGP 543.353 bn compared to EGP 519.157 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 25.75% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 1.875 bn which represents 26.13% of the total trading volume today after 23.409 million shares were exchanged capturing 2.98% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with increase EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” rose by 1.41% and 34.493 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 1.76% to record 7.489 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 1.44% to record 10.783 points.
