Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 8 January 2024 with Increase in the market cap by 0.5% to record EGP 415.657 bn compared to EGP 413.514 bn at yesterday's session.

The market cap of the banking sector reached 24.78% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange

The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 433.312 mn which represents 14.53% of the total trading volume today after 7.449 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.70% of the total trading volume.

The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX30 alone and turnover amounted EGP 10 mn on shares.

The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 0.02% and 25.350 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks Fell by 1.52% to record 5.762 points, and the broader index “EGX100” Increased by 1.21% to record 8.254 points.
