Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 18 March 2024 with decrease in the market cap by 4.8% to record EGP 488.136 bn compared to EGP 512.627 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 26.83% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 709.072 mn which represents 16.51% of the total trading volume today after 9.656 million shares were exchanged capturing 1.30% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 85.5 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” Fell by 6.34% and 31.062 points, “EGX70” index for medium stocks decreased by 7.85% to record 6.819 points, and the broader index “EGX100” decreased by 7.62% to record 9.767 points.
