AAIB, HD Bank, and CIB, fastest-growing banks in retail deposits during 2023

FirstBank List Of The Fastest-Growing Banks In Retail Deposits Revealed That The Arab African International Bank Topped The List With A Growth Rate Of 127.14% During The last Year. Its Portfolio Size Increased To EGP 165.6 Bn By The End Of December 2023, Compared To EGP 72.9 Bn At The End Of December 2022.

The List Tracked The Size Of Retail Deposits Portfolios At 21 Banks Operating In The Egyptian Banking Sector, For Which Financial Data Was Available For Analysis. It Showed That All Banks Achieved Positive Growth Rates In Their Retail Deposits Portfolios, From January To December 2023.

Returning To The List, HD Bank Secured The Second Position After Its Retail Deposits Portfolio Grew By 87.80% During The last Year, Reaching A Total Portfolio Size Of Around EGP 51.1 Bn By The End Of December 2023, Up From EGP 27.2 Bn At The End Of December 2022.

As For The Third Position, It Was Claimed By Commercial International Bank - Egypt (CIB) After Achieving A Growth Rate Of 37.88% In Its Retail Deposits Portfolio During The last Year. Its Value Stood At EGP 369.4 Bn By The End Of December 2023, Compared To EGP 267.90 Bn At The End Of December 2022.

Ahli United Bank Of Egypt Secured The Fourth Position With A Growth Rate Of 31.22% During The last Year, As Its Retail Deposits Portfolio Increased To EGP 18.4 Bn By The End Of December 2023, Up From EGP14 Bn At The End Of December 2022.

ABK-Egypt Come In Fifth Place After Achieving A Growth Rate Of 29.31% In Its Total Retail Deposits Portfolio During The last Year, With A Value Of EGP 21.5 Bn By The End Of September 2023, compared to EGP 16.6 Bn At The End Of December 2022.

ADCB Egypt Secured The Sixth Position After Achieving A Growth Rate Of 28.55% In Its Retail Deposits Portfolio During The last Year, Recording A Value Of EGP 14.3 Bn By The End Of December 2023, Compared To EGP 11.1 Bn At The End Of December 2022.

Attijariwafa bank Came In Seventh Place With A Growth Rate Of 22.59% During The last Year, Recording An Retail Deposits Portfolio Of EGP 26.9 Bn By The End Of December 2023, Compared To EGP 22 Bn At The End Of December 2022. It Was Followed By Banque Du Caire With A Growth Rate Of 21.49% During The Same Period.

aiBank Come In Ninth Place After Achieving A Growth Rate Of 20.28% In Its Retail Deposits Portfolio During The last Year, Recording A Value Of EGP 15.1 Bn By The End Of December 2023, Compared To EGP 12.6 Bn At The End Of December 2022.

QNB AL Ahli Secured The Tenth place After Achieving A Growth Rate Of 19.84% In Its Total Retail Deposits Portfolio During The last Year, With A Value Of EGP 173.4 Bn By The End Of September 2023, Compared To EGP 144.7 Bn At The End Of December 2022. It Was Followed By EBank With A Growth Rate Of 17.11% During The Same Period.
