Hisham Ezz El-Arab, the advisor of the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt was named Man of the Week after his exceptional performance in the banking sector for more than 45 years, during which he occupied several important leading positions. 

He has led the Commercial International Bank to become one of the most important commercial banks in the Middle East, transforming it from a commercial bank to the largest banking institution in the private sector, it has also became one of the largest company listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange in terms of market value making it the focus of attention of international investors looking for opportunities Investing in Egypt.

He was praised from international institutions; he was awarded the Best CEO in Egypt and Africa by the “EMEA Finance” during 2014, and he also won an award for Excellence from Euromoney for outstanding contribution to financial services in the Middle East 2016, as well as the Best CEO award for 2019 by Global Investor magazine Middle East, and he was also honored by Business Today magazine as one of the prominent business leaders, and a leader of digital transformation processes in the banking sector and the Egyptian economy.

Ezz Al-Arab graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University then he started his career in several Egyptian banks in 1977. With his extensive expertise he became the managing director of JP Morgan in London, then the managing director of Deutsche Bank – London. He also became the deputy managing director of the Commercial International Bank in 1999, the Member of the Board of Directors in 2001 and the Chairman and Managing Director of Commercial International Bank in 2002.
