Bloomberg: NBE tops the Egyptian market as a financing agent and a prime arranger for syndicated loans

The assessment prepared by Bloomberg on the list of syndicated loans performance showed that the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) won the first position as the best bank in the Egyptian banking market for its various roles as financing agent, prime arranger,documentation bank and marketer of syndicated loans for the first half of 2024.

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) has also obtained the first position as a documentation bank, the second position as a financing agent, the third position as marketer of syndicated loans and the fourth position as a prime arranger on the continent of Africa.

This was in addition to ranking first as a documentation bank, fifth as a financing agent and seventh as a marketer of syndicated loans in the Middle East and North Africa region, following a number of banks and major international financial institutions.

The National Bank of Egypt managed, arranged and marketed 16 financing deals worth a total of about EGP 83.2 bn during the first half of 2024.

In response to these outstanding results, Hisham Okasha, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NBE, stated that the syndicated loans managed and arranged by the National Bank of Egypt during the first half of 2024 were directed to major projects serving many strategic sectors such as shipbuilding, locomotives, real estate development, petroleum contracting, tourism, fertilizer and timber industry.

The National Bank of Egypt has always supported projects that contribute to the development of the resources and capabilities of the Egyptian economy by localizing industry, increasing added value and providing more employment opportunities especially for young people, based on the Bank's consistent policy of supporting economic development and raising economic growth rates in the country.
