Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Monday's closing session

The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Monday 19 August 2024 with an decrease in the market cap by 0.08% to record EGP 454.717bn compared to EGP 458.581 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 23.25% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to EGP 248.266mn which represents 6.78% of the total trading volume today after 4.725million shares were exchanged capturing 0.52% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease EGX30 only and turnover amounted EGP 151.7mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” fell by 0.48%, to record 29.532 points EGX70 increased by 0.46% to record 6.794 points, and the broader index “EGX100” rose by 0.33% to record 9.751points.
