Larry Ellison is a prominent example of an entrepreneur who has combined insight with persistent determination to become one of the most important names in the tech world. By founding Oracle, he succeeded in changing the global software, making qualitative leaps that made him one of the richest people in the world.

Ellison was born on August 17, 1944, in New York City, and from a young age he missed his much-traveled father to work as a fighter pilot in the United States Air Force.

He had to move in with family members in Chicago before completing his first year, because he had pneumonia, because his mother couldn't care for him, and he didn't see her again until he was 48.

Ellison grew up with his adoptive parents, faced difficult circumstances because of his new father's bullying and constant description of him as a failure, and lived in a neighborhood considered to be one of Chicago's worst brown Jews.

Larry Ellison faced many obstacles in his academic life, being expelled from university more than once, but he did not give up and learn to programing subjectively by reading.

In 1977, Ellison decided to enter entrepreneurship, founded with two of his friends, a software development company. Among the important contracts obtained by his company, there was a two-year contract to develop a software system named Oracle, with the aim of managing the CIA database.

Oracle's success was swift and surprising, thanks to Ellison's insight and determined leadership, the software system developed by the company for the CIA was only the beginning of a major breakthrough. After this decade, the company began to grow rapidly, gaining a strong reputation in the software and database market.

Despite this success, in the early 1990s the company suffered a decline in market value due to the presence of prominent competitors, but Ellison did not give up, succeeded in reinstating the company, and made a number of acquisitions that strengthened the company's strength.

Ellison made a huge fortune exceeds tens of billions of dollars, placing him fifth on the Forbes World's Richest People list for 2024 with a net worth of $141 billion.

However, Larry Ellison's influence extends beyond wealth; he is an example of an entrepreneur who can turn difficulties into great successes and gives his story a lesson in perseverance, creativity and a lasting aspiration for the future
