Faisal Islamic Bank, ALEXBANK, and The United Bank ,Top Banks in Focusing on Retail Deposits by the End of March 2025

According to the list provided by First Bank of the most focused banks on Retail deposits by the end of March 2025, Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt topped the list. The bank’s Retail deposits accounted for 97.56% of its total deposits, amounting to EGP 178.02 Bn, while total customer deposits reached EGP 182.49 Bn by the end of March 2025.

The list measures deposit trends of 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, specifically at the level of Retail deposit portfolios. It is based on the ratio of Retail deposits to total deposits, providing an indicator of the extent to which the bank’s deposit portfolio is concentrated in Retail deposits by the end of March 2025.

Returning to the list, ALEXBANK secured the second position, with 68.27% of its total customer deposits concentrated in its Retail deposit portfolio. Retail deposits amounted to EGP 123.95 Bn, while total customer deposits reached EGP 181.55 Bn by the end of March 2025.

The United Bank ranked third, with Retail deposits accounting for 61.25% of its total customer deposits. The bank recorded a Retail deposit portfolio of EGP 41.06 Bn, while its total customer deposits reached EGP 67.03 Bn by the end of March 2025.

Al Baraka Bank Egypt came in fourth place, with a concentration ratio of 60.53% by the end of March 2025. Retail deposits amounted to EGP 68.13 Bn, while total customer deposits reached EGP 112.56 Bn.

CIB – Commercial International Bank ranked fifth, with Retail deposits accounting for 57.38% of its total customer deposits. The bank recorded a Retail deposit portfolio of EGP 571.56 Bn, while total customer deposits reached EGP 996.12 Bn by the end of March 2025.

Banque du Caire took the sixth position, with Retail deposits representing 56.23% of its total customer deposits, amounting to EGP 207.62 Bn. Their total customer deposits were valued at EGP 369.23 Bn by the end of March 2025.

HSBC ranked seventh, with Retail deposits accounting for 54.94% of its total customer deposits. The bank recorded a Retail deposit portfolio of EGP 120.48 Bn, while its total customer deposits reached EGP 219.28 Bn by the end of March 2025.

Housing & Development Bank came in eighth place, with Retail deposits representing 50.28% of its total customer deposits, amounting to EGP 67.88 Bn. Total customer deposits reached EGP 135.02 Bn by the end of March 2025.

NBK – Egypt secured the ninth position, with a concentration ratio of 47.39%. Retail deposits amounted to EGP 77.93 Bn, while total customer deposits reached EGP 164.43 Bn by the end of March 2025.

AAIB – Arab African International Bank ranked tenth, with Retail deposits accounting for 45.65% of its total customer deposits. The bank recorded a Retail deposit portfolio of EGP 293.44 Bn, while its total customer deposits reached EGP 642.77 Bn by the end of March 2025.
