EGP index losses 0.409 points over a week recording 76.207 on Thursday
The Egyptian pound index declined against the major currencies over the week where it fell to 76.207 points, compared to 76.616 points a week earlier.
The Egyptian pound index declines against 5 major currencies among a basket of seven currencies that measures the performance of the pound. It fell against the Pound Sterling, the Chinese yuan, the Japnese yen and the UAE Dirham.
The average rate of the US dollar in Egypt rose from EGP 24.60 at the end of last week's trading to EGP24.64 pounds on Thursday, while the average buying price rose from EGP24.53 to EGP24.56.
The average rate of the euro in Egypt rose from EGP 25.68 at the end of last week's trading to EGP 25.92on Thursday, while the average buying price rose from EGP25.60 to EGP 25.83.
The average rate of the pound sterling in Egypt rose from EGP 29.97 at the end of last week's trading to EGP 29.98 pounds on thursday, while the average buying price rose from EGP 29.87 to EGP 29.88.
The average rate of the Chinese yuan in Egypt rose from EGP 3.47 pounds at the end of last week's trading to EGP 3.53 on Thursday, while the buying price rose from EGP3.46 to EGP3.52 pounds.
The average rate of the Saudi riyal in Egypt rose from EGP 6.54 pounds at the end of last week's trading to EGP 6.55 on Thursday, while the buying price rose from EGP 6.52 to EGP 6.53.
However, the average rate of the Japanese yen in Egypt fell from EGP 18.06 pounds at the end of last week's trading to EGP 18.01 pounds on Thursday, while the its buying price decreased from EGP 18.01 pounds to EGP 17.95.
The average Rate of the UAE dirham in Egypt was stable at EGP 6.70 pounds at the end of today's trading, while the buying price increased from EGP6.67 to EGP 6.68.
