Egypt’s banking sector performance on EGX at Wednesday's closing session
The banking sector ends EGX trading session on Wednesday, 14 May 2025 with an increase in the market cap by 0.91% to record EGP 479.474 bn compared to EGP 475.163 bn at yesterday's session.
The market cap of the banking sector reached 22.04% of the total EGX market cap, which is considered the highest percentage among the sectors listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange.
The turnover on banking sector shares amounted to 340.832 mn which represents 10.19% of the total trading volume today after 6.722 million shares were exchanged capturing 0.50% of the total trading volume.
The indexes of the Egyptian Exchange ended Today’s trading session with decrease and turnover amounted EGP 258.8 mn on shares.
The main index of the Egyptian Stock Exchange “EGX30” increase by 0.43% to reach 31.827 points EGX70 decrease by 0.33% to record 9.488 points, and the broader index “EGX100” fell by 0.25% to record 12.846 points.
