EGBANK, Emirates NBD and Kuwait Finance House top fastest growing banks in retail loans during the first quarter of 2025

«First Bank»’s list of the fastest growing banks in individual loans during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that the Egyptian Gulf Bank topped «EGBANK» with a growth rate of 35.8%, as its portfolio of individual loans rose to 21.79 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 16.05 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
The list, which included 23 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data were made available during the period under analysis, showed that all banks under analysis achieved positive growth rates in their individual loan portfolios during the first quarter of 2025.
Returning to the list, Emirates NBD Bank - Egypt took second place, with a growth rate of 15.2% during the first quarter of 2025, after the volume of its individual loans rose to 19.47 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 16.90 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
Kuwait Finance House – Egypt came in third place, after its portfolio of individual financing receivables increased by about 14% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 5.64 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 4.95 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
Suez Canal Bank took fourth place, after its portfolio of individual loans jumped by about 13.4% during the first quarter of 2025, reaching 6.23 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 5.49 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
Arab International Banking Company Bank «saib» came in fifth place, after its portfolio of individual loans increased by about 12.4% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 22.22 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 19.78 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
Al Baraka Bank ranked sixth, as the volume of its financing to individuals jumped by about 11.9% during the first quarter of this year, recording 14.02 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 12.52 billion pounds by the end of 2024
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK – Egypt» snatched seventh place with a growth rate of 11.8% during the first quarter of this year, thanks to the rise of its portfolio of individual loans to 25.60 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 22.90 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
BANK NXT«took eighth place, as its portfolio of individual loans jumped by about 10.7% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 11.42 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 10.32 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt «FABMISR» won ninth place, as the volume of its loans to individuals jumped by about 9.8% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 22.84 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 20.80 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
As for tenth place, it went to Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Egypt«ADIB», where the volume of its financing to individuals increased by about 9.4% during the first quarter of 2025, to record 30.24 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 27.66 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are in accordance with the independent financial statements announced for each bank at the end of March 2025
