HD Bank, EGBANK and SC Bank top the fastest growing banks in net interest income during Q1-2025

First Bank’s list of the fastest growing banks in net interest income during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that Housing and Development Bank topped the list, after its net income from returns increased at a growth rate of 86.4%, recording 6.93 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 3.72 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2024
The list, which included 24 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, showed that 22 banks achieved positive growth rates, while two banks witnessed a noticeable decline in their net interest income during the first quarter of 2025.
Returning to the list, the Egyptian Gulf Bank «EGBANK» ranked second with a growth rate of 57.8%, after its net interest income amounted to 1.88 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 1.19 billion pounds during the same period in 2024.
Suez Canal Bank took third place with a growth rate of 54%, after its net interest income increased to 1.68 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 1.09 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» took fourth place with a growth rate of 45%, after its net interest income recorded about 4.60 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 3.18 billion pounds during the same period in 2024.
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt «ADCB» came fifth, as its net interest income increased by about 44.6% during the first quarter of 2025, recording 2.44 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 1.68 billion pounds during the same period in 2024.
Faisal Islamic Bank ranked sixth, with a growth rate of 43.4%, after its net interest income increased to record 2.37 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 1.65 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2024.
National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt dominated seventh place, as its net interest income increased by about 41.3% during the first quarter of 2025, reaching 3.35 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 2.37 billion pounds during the corresponding period in 2024.
Al Baraka Bank came in eighth place, thanks to an increase in its net interest income from returns by about 35.4% during the first quarter of this year, recording 1.81 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 1.34 billion pounds during the same period in 2024.
Commercial International Bank - Egypt «CIB» dominated ninth place, after its net income from revenue jumped by about 34.8% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 25.30 billion pounds during the first quarter of this year, compared to 18.76 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2024.
The Bank of Alexandria came tenth, thanks to an increase in its net income from returns by about 33.2% during the first quarter of this year, reaching 5.48 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2025, compared to 4.12 billion pounds during the first quarter of 2024.
It is worth noting that all the values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are according to the independent financial statements announced for each bank during the first quarter of 2025.
