NBK, BANK NXT, and Banque du Caire top fastest growing banks in real estate loans during Q1-2025
«First Bank»’s list of the fastest growing banks in real estate loans during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that the National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt topped the list, as its real estate loan portfolio jumped by about 20% during the first quarter of 2025, recording 2.13 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 1.78 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
The «First Bank» list monitored the total real estate loans of 20 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector for which financial data were available for the analysis period, and revealed that 14 banks achieved positive growth rates in their real estate loans, while 6 banks achieved decline rates in their total portfolios during the first quarter of 2025.
Returning to the list, Bank NXT«snatched second place, with a rate of 13.7%, as its portfolio jumped to 2.05 billion pounds at the end of last March, compared to 1.80 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
Banque du Caire came in third place, after its portfolio of real estate loans increased by about 10.4% during the first quarter of 2025, reaching 9.44 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 8.55 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
The Egyptian Gulf Bank «EGBANK» came in fourth place, after its portfolio of real estate loans increased by about 8.5% during the first quarter of 2025, recording 559.63 million pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 516 million pounds at the end of 2024.
Credit Agricole Bank – Egypt came fifth, as its portfolio of real estate loans increased by about 8.3% during the first 3 months of this year, reaching 1.60 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 1.48 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
Commercial International Bank «CIB» ranked sixth, as its real estate loan portfolio jumped by about 8.1% during the first quarter of this year, recording 6.24 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 5.77 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
Qatar National Bank «QNB» Egypt ranked seventh on the list, as its real estate loan portfolio rose by about 7.5% during the first quarter of 2025, reaching 9.03 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 8.40 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
