EGBANK, Emirates NBD and Kuwait Finance House – Egypt top fastest growing banks in personal finance during Q1-2025

First Bank's list of the fastest growing banks in personal finance during the first quarter of 2025 revealed that the Egyptian Gulf Bank «EGBANK» topped the list, as its portfolio jumped by about 41.1% during the first quarter of 2025, reaching 18.40 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 13.04 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
The «First Bank» list monitored the size of personal loan portfolios in 23 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data were made available during the period under analysis, and revealed that all banks under analysis achieved positive growth rates during the first quarter of 2025.
Returning to the list, Emirates NBD – Egypt «Emirates NBD» snatched second place with a growth rate of 15.2% during the first quarter of 2025, thanks to the increase in its portfolio of personal loans to EGP 15.80 billion by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 13.71 billion by the end of 2024.
Kuwait Finance House – Egypt ranked third with a growth rate of 14.6% during the first quarter of this year, thanks to the increase in its personal finance portfolio to EGP 4.87 billion by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 4.25 billion by the end of 2024.
Suez Canal Bank ranked fourth, as the volume of its personal loans increased by about 13.90% during the first quarter of 2025, reaching 6.06 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 5.32 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
Arab International Banking Corporation «SAIB» came in fifth place with a growth rate of 13.87% during the first quarter of 2025, as the volume of its personal loans jumped to EGP 19.10 billion by the end of March 2025, compared to EGP 16.77 billion by the end of 2024.
First Abu Dhabi Bank - Egypt «FABMISR» ranked sixth, as the volume of its personal loans jumped by about 13% during the first quarter of 2025, reaching 17 billion pounds by the end of March 2025, compared to 15.05 billion pounds by the end of 2024.
Al Baraka Bank came in seventh place, as its portfolio of personal financing increased by about 12.2% during the first quarter of 2025, recording 13.66 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 12.18 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
The National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «ABK – Egypt» snatched eighth place with a growth rate of 11.7% during the first quarter of 2025, after the volume of its personal loans jumped to 24.60 billion pounds at the end of March 2025, compared to 22.03 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
Arab African International Bank came in ninth place, as its portfolio of personal loans increased by about 11.6% during the first 3 months of 2025, reaching 10.11 billion pounds at the end of last March, compared to 9.06 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
As for tenth place, it went to Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB», after its portfolio of personal financing increased by about 10.5% during the first quarter of 2025, reaching 28.48 billion pounds at the end of last March, compared to 25.77 billion pounds at the end of 2024.
It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned in the above analysis are in accordance with the independent financial statements announced for each bank by the end of March 2025.
