ADIB-Egypt, HD Bank and SC Bank Fastest-Growing Banks in Shareholders’ equity During H1-2025

ADIB-Egypt tops the list of the fastest-growing banks in Shareholders’ equity with a growth rate of 22.3%, while HD Bank secured second place with 20.6%.
SC Bank ranked third with a growth rate of 19.5%, followed by ADCB and NBK-Egypt in fourth and fifth places with 18.7% and 16.1%, respectively, during the first half of 2025.
CIB, ABK-Egypt, and Emirates NBD were also among the top 10 fastest-growing banks in Shareholders’ equity, with growth rates of 16.08%, 15.5%, and 14.8%, respectively.
First Bank’s list of the fastest-growing banks in Shareholders’ equity during the first half of 2025 revealed that Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank – Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» topped the ranking with a growth rate of 22.3%, Its Shareholders’ equity rose to EGP 27.36 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 22.37 billion at the end of 2024.
The list monitored the Shareholders’ equity of 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, based on available financial data. Results showed that 21 banks recorded positive growth in Shareholders’ equity during the first half of 2025, while 4 banks recorded a decline.
The term «equity» refers to the residual interest of owners after deducting all liabilities from the bank’s total assets (i.e., it essentially represents Shareholders’’ ownership rights in the bank’s assets).
Housing and Development Bank «HDB» came in second place, as its Shareholders’ equity increased by 20.6% to reach EGP 29.25 billion by the end of June 2025, compared to EGP 24.24 billion at the end of 2024.
Suez Canal Bank secured third place, recording growth of 19.5% to EGP 16.58 billion, up from EGP 13.87 billion at the end of 2024.
Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank «ADCB» ranked fourth with 18.7% growth, as Shareholders’ equity rose to EGP 15.94 billion by June 2025, compared to EGP 13.43 billion at the end of 2024.
National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «NBK-Egypt» followed in fifth place with a 16.11% increase, bringing its Shareholders’ equity to EGP 25.75 billion, compared to EGP 22.17 billion at the end of 2024.
Commercial International Bank «CIB» came sixth, with Shareholders’ equity up 16.08% to EGP 176.07 billion, versus EGP 151.69 billion in December 2024.
Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait-Egypt «ABK-Egypt» took seventh place, recording 15.5% growth to EGP 18.34 billion, compared to EGP 15.89 billion previously.
Emirates NBD-Egypt followed in eighth place, as Shareholders’ equity rose by 14.79% to EGP 19.95 billion by June 2025, against EGP 17.38 billion at the end of 2024.
In ninth place, EGBANK recorded 14.76% growth, with Shareholders’ equity climbing to EGP 11.01 billion from EGP 9.59 billion.
Finally, Banque du Caire «BDC» ranked tenth, as Shareholders’ equity grew 11.5% to EGP 49.39 billion by June 2025, compared to EGP 44.28 billion at the end of 2024.
It is worth noting that all values and growth rates mentioned above are based on the independent financial statements released by each bank at the end of June 2025.
