NBE, Banque Misr, and CIB are Egypt’s Top Lending Banks by Market Share as of June 2025
NBE tops the list of banks, capturing 46.41% of the total lending market share by the end of June 2025, while Banque Misr ranks second with a 14.01% share.
CIB comes in third with a 5.01% market share, followed by QNB-Egypt in fourth place with a 4.35% share.
AAIB ranks fifth with a 2.39% share, while BDC and FABMISR are among the top 10 banks in loan market shares with 2.38% and 1.79%, respectively.
First Bank’s ranking of the largest Egyptian banks by market share of customer loans as of the end of June 2025 revealed that the National Bank of Egypt (NBE) topped the list with a market share of 46.41% of the total banking sector loans, after its loan portfolio reached EGP 4.33 trillion by the end of June 2025.
The First Bank ranking of Egypt’s largest banks by loan market share as of June 2025 covered 28 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, based on their independently published financial statements.
Returning to the list, Banque Misr captured the second position, accounting for 14.01% of total sector loans, with its loan portfolio reaching EGP 1.31 trillion by the end of June 2025.
The Commercial International Bank «CIB» ranked third, with a market share of 5.01% and a total loan portfolio of EGP 466.81 billion as of June 2025.
Qatar National Bank-Egypt «QNB-Egypt» secured the fourth place, with a 4.35% market share and a total customer loan portfolio of approximately EGP 405.54 billion by the end of June 2025.
In fifth place, The Arab African International Bank «AAIB» held 2.39% of total sector loans, with its customer loan portfolio rising to EGP 222.54 billion by the end of June 2025.
Banque du Caire «BDC» came sixth, with a 2.38% market share and total customer loans amounting to EGP 221.70 billion as of the same period.
First Abu Dhabi Bank-Egypt «FABMISR» ranked seventh, holding 1.79% of the market, with a total loan portfolio of approximately EGP 166.61 billion by June 2025.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» secured the eighth position, with a 1.38% market share and total customer loans of EGP 128.21 billion as of the end of the first half of 2025.
National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «NBK-Egypt» came in ninth, accounting for 1.23% of the market, with a total loan portfolio of EGP 114.59 billion.
Rounding out the list, Emirates NBD Egypt ranked tenth, with a 1.04% market share and total customer loans of EGP 96.88 billion by the end of June 2025.
