NBE, Banque Misr, and CIB Lead the Market Share Rankings for Deposits in Egypt by the End of June 2025

NBE tops the list of banks with the largest market share of deposits, capturing 36.61%, while Banque Misr ranks second with a share of 18.67%.

CIB comes in third with a 6.99% market share, followed by QNB-Egypt in fourth place with 4.71%.

AAIB ranks fifth with a 4.47% share, while BDC and FABMISR are among the top 10 banks in terms of deposit market share, holding 2.56% and 1.94%, respectively.

The First Bank list of the largest banks operating in Egypt’s banking sector by deposit market share at the end of June 2025 revealed that the National Bank of Egypt «NBE» topped the list, capturing a 36.61% market share of the total sector deposits, with a deposit portfolio amounting to EGP 5.45 trillion, thus holding more than one-third of the total deposits in the banking sector.

Banque Misr ranked second with a market share of 18.67%, as its deposit portfolio reached EGP 2.78 trillion by the end of the same period.

Commercial International Bank «CIB» came in third, accounting for 6.99% of the total sector deposits, with a total deposit portfolio of EGP 1.04 trillion.

Qatar National Bank-Egypt «QNB-Egypt» secured the fourth position, holding a 4.71% market share of total banking sector deposits, with a deposit portfolio amounting to EGP 701.71 billion.

Meanwhile, the Arab African International Bank «AAIB» ranked fifth with a 4.47% market share, after its deposit portfolio climbed to EGP 665.88 billion.

Banque du Caire «BDC» followed in sixth place, accounting for 2.56% of the sector’s total deposits, with EGP 380.45 billion in its deposit portfolio.

First Abu Dhabi Bank-Egypt «FABMISR» came in seventh with a 1.94% market share, as its deposits reached EGP 288.48 billion.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank-Egypt «ADIB-Egypt» ranked eighth, holding 1.57% of total sector deposits, with a portfolio of EGP 233.61 billion.

The Agricultural Bank of Egypt came in ninth with a 1.52% market share, while HSBC Egypt rounded out the top ten, securing a 1.49% share of total deposits, with a portfolio of EGP 221.58 billion by the end of June 2025.
