FABMISR, AAIB, and EBank Top the Ranking of Banks with the Highest Assets-to-Deposits Coverage Ratio as of June 2025

FABMISR Tops the List of Banks with the Highest Assets-to-Deposits Coverage Ratio at 159.82%… AAIB Secures Second Place with 139.29% as of June 2025
EBank claimed third place on the list with a coverage ratio of 137.11%, while HSBC and Banque du Caire ranked fourth and fifth with ratios of 135.54% and 134.90%, respectively.
FABMISR led the list of banks with the highest assets-to-deposits coverage ratio, recording 159.82%. The bank’s total assets reached EGP 461.05 billion, compared to total deposits of EGP 288.48 billion by the end of June 2025.
The assets-to-deposits coverage ratio reflects banks’ ability to cover their customers’ deposits using their total asset portfolios. It is calculated as (Assets ÷ Deposits) × 100. A higher ratio indicates stronger financial security provided by the bank to its depositors across different segments.
The list, prepared by First Bank, included 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, for which financial data was available during the analysis period. Findings revealed that all the banks analyzed maintained strong coverage levels of their customers’ deposits.
Coming in second place, the Arab African International Bank (AAIB) recorded a ratio of 139.29%, with total assets of EGP 927.51 billion and total deposits of EGP 665.88 billion as of June 2025.
In third place, the Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank) achieved a coverage ratio of 137.11%, with total assets of EGP 188.78 billion and total deposits of EGP 137.69 billion.
HSBC Egypt ranked fourth, posting a ratio of 135.54%. The bank’s total assets stood at EGP 300.33 billion, while deposits reached EGP 221.58 billion by the end of June 2025.
Banque du Caire secured fifth place with a ratio of 134.90%, as its total assets reached EGP 513.22 billion compared to deposits of EGP 380.45 billion.
Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt followed in sixth place, with a ratio of 131.98%, reporting assets of EGP 248.43 billion against deposits of EGP 188.23 billion.
Emirates NBD Egypt came seventh, recording a ratio of 130.24%, with assets amounting to EGP 192.25 billion and deposits of EGP 147.61 billion.
Credit Agricole Egypt ranked eighth with a coverage ratio of 129.79%, as total assets reached EGP 134.85 billion against deposits of EGP 103.89 billion.
Suez Canal Bank secured ninth place, posting a ratio of 129.77%, with assets of EGP 227.32 billion and deposits of EGP 175.17 billion.
Finally, the United Bank ranked tenth, with a coverage ratio of 128.36%, reporting assets of EGP 89.49 billion against deposits of EGP 69.71 billion as of June 2025.
