KFH-Egypt, NBK-Egypt, and Emirates NBD Top the Ranking of Banks with the Highest Loan-to-Deposit Ratios by June 2025

KFH-Egypt topped the list of banks with the highest loan-to-deposit ratio, recording 74.88%. NBK-Egypt secured second place with a ratio of 68.96%.

Emirates NBD ranked third with a ratio of 65.63%, followed by Attijariwafa and BDC in fourth and fifth places, with ratios of 59.96% and 58.27%, respectively.

EBank, QNB-Egypt, and FABMISR were also among the top 10 banks, with loan-to-deposit ratios of 57.96%, 57.79%, and 57.75%, respectively.

First Bank’s ranking of the best-performing banks in terms of loan-to-deposit ratios by June 2025 revealed that Kuwait Finance House – Egypt «KFH-Egypt» topped the list with a ratio of 74.88%. The bank’s loan portfolio reached EGP 93.44 billion, against a deposit portfolio of EGP 124.79 billion by the end of June 2025.

The ranking covered the loan-to-deposit ratios of 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, showing that 24 banks achieved ratios ranging between 27.32% and 74.88% by the end of June 2025. Faisal Islamic Bank was the only exception, recording the lowest ratio over the same period.

National Bank of Kuwait «NBK-Egypt» came in second place with a ratio of 68.96%, after its loans to customers rose to EGP 114.59 billion, compared to a deposit portfolio of EGP 166.17 billion by the end of June 2025.

Emirates NBD – Egypt secured third place with a ratio of 65.63%, as its customer loans portfolio stood at EGP 96.88 billion, against deposits of EGP 147.61 billion by June 2025.

Attijariwafa Bank – Egypt ranked fourth with a loan-to-deposit ratio of 59.96%, recording customer loans of EGP 61.40 billion, against deposits of EGP 102.40 billion.

Banque du Caire «BDC» took fifth place with a ratio of 58.27%, with loans to customers reaching EGP 221.70 billion, compared to deposits of EGP 380.45 billion.

In sixth place, the Export Development Bank of Egypt «EBank» achieved a ratio of 57.96%, as its loans portfolio rose to EGP 79.81 billion, compared to deposits of EGP 137.69 billion.

Qatar National Bank – Egypt «QNB-Egypt» ranked seventh with a ratio of 57.79%, with customer loans standing at EGP 405.54 billion and deposits at EGP 701.71 billion.

First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt «FABMISR» came eighth, recording a loan-to-deposit ratio of 57.75%, with loans of EGP 166.61 billion and deposits of EGP 288.48 billion.

Credit Agricole – Egypt ranked ninth with a ratio of 56.96%, with customer loans of EGP 59.17 billion, against deposits of EGP 103.89 billion.

Finally, Al Baraka Bank secured tenth place with a ratio of 56.48%, as its loans portfolio reached EGP 65.08 billion, compared to deposits of EGP 114.78 billion by June 2025.
