FABMISR, Emirates NBD, and HD Bank Lead First Bank’s Resource employment Index as of June 2025

FABMISR tops First Bank’s Index of banks with the highest resource employment ratio, recording 92.11%, followed by Emirates NBD-Egypt in second place with 86.60%, and HD Bank in third with 86.40%.

Meanwhile, KFH-Egypt and QNB-Egypt ranked fourth and fifth with employment ratios of 84.18% and 83%, respectively.

First Bank’s Resource Utilization Index for banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector as of June 2025 revealed that First Abu Dhabi Bank – Egypt «FABMISR» led the ranking with a employment ratio of 92.11%. The bank successfully employed EGP 327.06 billion of its traditional resources in customer loans and financial investments, out of a total of EGP 355.08 billion in traditional resources by the end of June 2025.

The index, developed by First Bank’s Research Center, measures the ratio of traditional resources (customer deposits + shareholders’ equity) to productive uses (customer loans + financial investments) across 25 banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector as of June 2025.

Returning to the ranking, Emirates NBD – Egypt secured second place, with a employment ratio of 86.60%, having deployed EGP 145.10 billion of its traditional resources in loans and investments, compared to total traditional resources of EGP 167.55 billion at the end of June 2025.

Housing & Development Bank «HDB» came in third, recording a employment ratio of 86.40%, after allocating EGP 156.21 billion of its EGP 180.79 billion in traditional resources to loans and financial investments by the end of June 2025.

Kuwait Finance House – Egypt «KFH-Egypt» ranked fourth with a employment ratio of 84.18%, having deployed EGP 121.73 billion of its EGP 144.60 billion in traditional resources into loans and investments.

Qatar National Bank – Egypt «QNB-Egypt» claimed fifth place, with a employment ratio of 83%, employing EGP 663.41 billion of its EGP 799.26 billion traditional resources in customer loans and financial investments.

Al Baraka Bank Egypt followed in sixth place with a employment ratio of 82.16%, as it employed EGP 105.40 billion of its EGP 128.28 billion resources in loans and investments.

EGBANK ranked seventh, with a employment ratio of 81.31%, having allocated EGP 104.55 billion of its EGP 128.58 billion resources to customer loans and financial investments.

Export Development Bank of Egypt «EBank» came in eighth, recording 80.90%, after utilizing EGP 128.19 billion out of EGP 158.45 billion in total resources for loans and investments.

Attijariwafa Bank Egypt ranked ninth, posting a employment ratio of 80.51%, with EGP 92.29 billion of EGP 114.64 billion in traditional resources directed toward loans and investments.

Finally, National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt «NBK-Egypt» secured the tenth position, with a resource employment ratio of 79.41%, as it employed EGP 152.39 billion of EGP 191.92 billion in total traditional resources for loans and financial investments as of June 2025.
