FABMISR, Emirates NBD, and Al Baraka Top First Bank’s Resource Employment Index by End of March 2025

The First Bank Index for Monitoring Top Banks in Terms of Resource Employment by the end of March 2025 revealed that FABMISR topped the list with a resource employment rate of 91.38%, The bank employed 321.91 bn of its traditional resources in customer loans and financial investments portfolios, while its total traditional resources amounted to 352.26 bn by the end of the same period.
This index, launched by First Bank Research Center, measures the employment rate of traditional resources (deposits + equity) in (loans + financial investments) across banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector as of the end of March 2025.
Returning to the index, Emirates NBD – Egypt Won the second position after achievingwith a resource employment rate of 88.65%, after employing 135.67 bn of its traditional resources in total customer loans and financial investments portfolios, while its total traditional resources amounted to 153.05 bn by the end of March 2025.
Al Baraka Bank came in third with a resource employment rate of 86.41%, having employed 108.06 bn of its traditional resources in loan and investment portfolios, out of a total of 125.05 bn by the end of the same period.
Attijariwafa Bank Egypt ranked fourth, with a resource employment rate of 82.67%. The bank employed approximately 94.34 bn of its traditional resources in customer loans and financial investments by the end of March 2025, while the total traditional resources reached around 114.11 bn.
In fifth place came EGBANK, after achieving a resource employment rate of 81.70%, by employing 105.86 bn out of 129.57 bn in traditional resources by the end of March 2025.
Kuwait Finance House – Egypt secured the sixth position, having employed 81.41% of its traditional resources. The bank allocated 120.81 bn of its total traditional resources amounting to 148.41 bn into customer loans and financial investments portfolios.
In seventh place came the Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank), with a resource employment rate of 80.10%. The bank deployed 120.44 bn out of 150.37 bn in its traditional resources into loans and investments by the end of March 2025.
NBK – Egypt ranked eighth, with a resource employment rate of 79.16%, after allocating 148.53 bn of its traditional resources in customer loans and financial investments portfolios, while the total traditional resources stood at 187.62 bn.
QNB– Egypt came in ninth place, recording a resource employment rate of 78.12%. The bank employed 639.8 bn out of 819.08 bn in traditional resources by the end of March 2025.
Rounding out the top ten, The United Bank ranked tenth, with a resource employment rate of 77.64%, after employing approximately 63.01 bn of its traditional resources in customer loans and financial investments portfolios, out of a total of 81.16 bn by the end of the same period.
It should be noted that all the above values and employment rates according to the separate financial statements announced to each bank by the end of March 2025.
