SC Bank, Al Baraka, and ADIB-Egypt Lead Private Sector Banks in Fee and Commission Income Growth During H1 2025

SC Bank topped the list of the fastest-growing private sector banks in net fee and commission income, recording a growth rate of 78.3%, while Al Baraka Bank secured the second position with a 61.7% increase.

ADIB-Egypt ranked third with a growth rate of 44.1%, followed by Bank of Alexandria and QNB Egypt, which came in fourth and fifth places with growth rates of 39.2% and 24%, respectively.

Meanwhile, CIB, ADCB-Egypt, and Crédit Agricole Egypt were among the top 10 private banks in terms of growth in net fee and commission income, with rates of 21.3%, 20.9%, and 17.3%, respectively.

The First Bank ranking of the fastest-growing private sector banks in net fee and commission income during the first half of 2025 revealed that Suez Canal Bank «SC Bank» claimed the top spot, driven by a 78.3% rise in its net fee and commission income, which reached EGP 692.08 million in H1 2025, compared to EGP 388.24 million in the same period of 2024.

The list, which included 20 private banks operating in the Egyptian banking sector, showed that 16 banks recorded positive growth rates, while 4 banks witnessed a noticeable decline in their net fee and commission income during H1 2025, based on independently published financial statements for each bank.

It is worth noting that private sector banks are defined as those in which private ownership exceeds 50% of total capital, according to data from Egypt’s Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector.

Returning to the ranking, Al Baraka Bank secured the second place with a growth rate of 61.7%, as its net fee and commission income rose to EGP 514.63 million in the first six months of 2025, compared to EGP 318.27 million during the same period of 2024.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank «ADIB-Egypt» came in third, achieving a growth rate of 44.1%, with its net fee and commission income reaching EGP 1.35 billion in H1 2025, compared to EGP 939.10 million in H1 2024.

In fourth place, Bank of Alexandria «Alex Bank» recorded a 39.2% growth, as its net fee and commission income rose to EGP 1.23 billion in the first half of 2025, compared to EGP 881.39 million in the same period of 2024.

Qatar National Bank-Egypt «QNB-Egypt» ranked fifth, with its net fee and commission income increasing to EGP 3.26 billion in H1 2025, compared to EGP 2.63 billion a year earlier, marking a 24% rise.

Commercial International Bank «CIB» took the sixth place, posting a growth rate of 21.3%, as its net fee and commission income climbed to EGP 4.12 billion in H1 2025, from EGP 3.40 billion in H1 2024.

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank «ADCB-Egypt» followed in seventh place, after recording a 20.9% increase, with net fee and commission income reaching EGP 663.12 million in H1 2025, compared to EGP 548.33 million in H1 2024.

Crédit Agricole Egypt came eighth, with income rising by 17.3% to EGP 794.58 million in H1 2025, up from EGP 677.21 million in the corresponding period of 2024.

Emirates NBD-Egypt ranked ninth, with its net fee and commission income rising to EGP 918.46 million in H1 2025, compared to EGP 808.69 million in H1 2024, reflecting a 13.6% increase.

Finally, HSBC Egypt secured the tenth position, achieving a growth rate of 11.8%, as its net fee and commission income rose to EGP 1.42 billion in H1 2025, compared to EGP 1.27 billion in the same period of 2024.
